Syllabus

This course is an introductory course required for success in all other high school math courses. Course content follows criteria for Benchmarks established to achieve success in the FCAT. The content of this course includes expressions, equations, linear and nonlinear functions, polynomials, radical and rational functions, and data analysis.

Success

  • Come to class every day
  • Bring materials (paper, pencil, calculator)
  • Do all homework
  • Get help if needed

Materials

  • Spiral notebook, graph paper and 3 ring binder
  • Pencil only
  • Colored pencil for corrections
  • Scientific Calculator

Grades
Grades are based on 80% assessments, 20% assignments.
Homework (assignment) - 20%
Projects – (assessment) - 10%
Quizzes – (assessment) - 20%
Chapter Tests (assessment) - 50%
See your teacher about make-up missed work (10% penalty/day)
